CommentGate vs Smart Moderation

Both hide harmful comments on their own. Smart Moderation prices by profile with unlimited comments; CommentGate prices by comments with every account included.

The short version

Smart Moderation flags and hides unwanted comments on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, including Facebook and Instagram ads, and on website comment sections. Plans are sized by profile, with one user below Enterprise.

CommentGate adds TikTok and Threads, drafts replies in your voice, and lets your whole team work from the same list, with every brand and account on one plan.

Fair to both

Where Smart Moderation is stronger

  • Unlimited comments

Every plan is flat, so a viral month costs the same. CommentGate charges for each comment or automated message past your plan.

  • Website comments

It moderates the Facebook Comments Plugin and HubSpot blog comments, which CommentGate does not.

Where CommentGate fits better

  • TikTok and Threads

Posts and ads, in the same list as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

  • Replies drafted for you

In your voice, from your notes and past answers. Approve them, or let clear answers go out on their own.

  • Your whole team

Roles for owners, admins, managers and moderators. Smart Moderation lists one user on Basic and Pro.

  • Every account on one plan

Add Pages, profiles and brands without moving up a tier.

Prices at three volumes

CommentGate counts comments and automated messages together, and past your plan charges for each one at the same rate.
