Quickstart

1. Create a key

In CommentGate, open Settings, then API keys, and create a key. It is shown once, so store it somewhere safe, then put it in your shell:

2. Make your first call

GET /me answers with the workspace (brand) the key belongs to:

3. Read the comments waiting for a person

4. Hide one

Use the id of a comment from the list. The platform confirms within seconds:

5. Get events as they happen

Rather than polling, subscribe a URL with a REST hook or add a webhook in Settings, then Alerts. Every delivery is signed.

From the command line

The same things without writing code. Save your key once, then work what is waiting:

npx commentgate login
npx commentgate needs-you

Install it for good with npm install -g commentgate. See Command line.

From an AI assistant

Add https://commentgate.com/mcp as a connector in Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, sign in and pick your brand. The assistant can then tell you how the autopilot is doing, answer what is waiting, hide and reply, and pull your numbers. See MCP server.

Conventions

• Every request goes to https://commentgate.com/api/v1 over HTTPS and every body is JSON (content-type: application/json).
• Responses wrap the result in data. Lists add next_cursor; see Pagination.
• Times are ISO 8601 in UTC (2026-09-22T18:22:30Z). Filters that take a time need an offset (Z or -04:00).
• Every platform id is a string. TikTok and Threads ids do not fit in a JavaScript number.
• Responses call a brand a workspace. A key sees every connected account in its workspace.
• Errors are JSON with a stable code; see Errors.
