Every switch on Setup, in plain words

What each hide switch on Setup catches, which are on from the start, and how to set one account differently.

Updated

Open Setup in the sidebar. Each switch saves the moment you flip it, and the new setting applies to comments that arrive from then on. Only owners and admins can change Setup; everyone else sees it read-only.

Most brands leave Hide negative comments off and answer criticism in public instead. A calm public answer shows other shoppers that you listen, and people notice when complaints vanish.

Competitor names

When Hide competitor mentions is on, a box opens under it. Type each competitor's name and press Enter (up to 50). CommentGate also recognizes plugs for brands you did not list, but the names help it catch yours for sure.

What "hide" means on each platform

Hiding takes a comment out of public view without deleting it, so you can unhide it any time from Activity. TikTok, YouTube and Threads only allow hiding, never deleting other people's comments. On YouTube, hiding holds the comment for review, which you can also undo.

The rest of Setup

Set one account differently

At the bottom of Setup, click Customize for one account. Choose the account, then set each switch to Same as all, On or Off, and click Save. Anything left on Same as all follows your main switches. "Always ask me about" is the same for every account.

Advanced

Click Advanced at the bottom of Setup for Rules, Lists, Topics, Sensitivity and Replies, and a read-only list of what each switch does. Customize next to a switch turns it into a rule you can edit yourself and switches it off. See Rules, for advanced users.
