Connect YouTube
The channel owner connects YouTube with their Google account. Comments on videos, Shorts and video ads are checked about every 5 minutes.

YouTube comments on your videos, Shorts and video ads all come in through one connection: your channel.
Who can connect
Only the channel's owner can connect it. If the channel belongs to a Brand Account, its owner or a manager of that Brand Account can connect it too.
People you added under Channel permissions in YouTube Studio (Manager, Editor and so on) cannot connect the channel: YouTube does not give those roles access for other apps. Ask the owner to do this step.
Connect
- Open Accounts and click Connect, then YouTube.
- Google opens. Choose the Google account, or the Brand Account, that owns the channel.
- Keep the YouTube permission ticked and allow access.
- You land back on Accounts with Your YouTube channel is connected.
If you see That Google account has no YouTube channel, you picked an account without a channel. Connect again and choose the account (or Brand Account) that owns it.
How quickly comments arrive
YouTube does not announce new comments to other apps, so CommentGate checks your channel about every 5 minutes, a little more often when it is busy. The first check also brings in the last 30 days as suggestions.
What YouTube allows
- Hide puts a comment on hold for review in YouTube Studio. It disappears from the video and you can bring it back from CommentGate at any time.
- YouTube does not let anyone delete other people's comments.
- Remove and block on YouTube, in a comment's menu, removes the comment for good and hides what that person writes next on your channel. It cannot be undone, so CommentGate only does it when you choose it.
- Replies go under top-level comments, and never to a comment that is on hold. YouTube limits how many replies can go out each day.
- No likes and no pins.
- Ad comments count when the ad runs from a video on your connected channel.
Privacy
YouTube's rules mean comment text and author details are deleted from CommentGate after 30 days. Your reports keep their totals. When you disconnect YouTube, CommentGate's access is removed from your Google account at once.
