Comments and replies in other languages
CommentGate reads comments in any language, is more careful before hiding outside English, replies in the commenter’s language, and translates for you.
Updated
If you sell in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Brazil or Japan, your comments come in more than one language. Here is how CommentGate handles that.
Reading and hiding
Every comment is read, whatever the language. Outside English, CommentGate is less sure of itself, so it needs to be more certain before it hides a comment on its own. When it is not certain enough, the comment waits for you in Needs you instead of being hidden.
To change how sure it must be, open Setup, Advanced, Sensitivity, and move Hide comments in other languages when at least this sure. Lower hides more on its own, and sometimes hides comments that were fine.
Switches that act on facts, like Hide links and Hide phone numbers and emails, work the same in every language.
Replies
Drafted replies and automatic answers are written in the commenter's language. Your guidance and brand voice can stay in English.
Translate a comment
In Activity, open a comment, click More (the three dots) and choose Translate to English. A language picker next to the translation lets you choose another language; it remembers your choice.
Translate your reply
Write your reply in English, then click Translate my reply to their language in the reply box. Check it, then Send. Show my original puts your words back.
Nothing is posted until you send it, and translations are not saved.
