How CommentGate decides: hide, keep, reply or ask you
What happens to each new comment, when CommentGate acts on its own, when it asks you, and how your answers teach it.

Every new comment on your connected accounts and ads is read within seconds (on YouTube, about every 5 minutes). CommentGate then does one of four things with it.
| What it does | When |

| Hide | The comment clearly matches a switch you turned on, like a scam or spam. |
| Keep | The comment is clearly fine. It stays up and nothing more happens. |
| Reply | It is a question and Answer questions is on. The reply is drafted for you, or sent on its own if you chose that. |
| Ask you | It is not sure, or the comment is about a topic you always want to see. It waits in Needs you on Home. |
What it looks at
- Your switches on Setup. Only the kinds of comment you switched on are ever hidden. See Every switch on Setup.
- Your guidance. The line you wrote under "Anything we should know about your brand?" on Setup.
- Your past answers. When a new comment looks like ones you already decided, CommentGate leans the way you went.
- Your rules and lists, if you use them. They always win. See Rules, for advanced users.
When it asks you
CommentGate only acts alone when it is sure. Anything in between goes to Needs you on Home, with a short reason and which way it leans. Hover the reason to see how sure it was.
Comments about chargebacks, legal threats, press, safety, health claims and partnership offers always wait for you, however sure it is. You can change that list under Always ask me about.
How it learns
Every time you answer or correct it, CommentGate learns. You do not need to train it separately. These all count:
- Hide, Keep or Reply in Needs you.
- Unhide a comment it hid, or hide one it kept, anywhere in Activity.
- Approve, edit or throw away a drafted reply.
Once a day it looks back over your answers. In an area where it keeps agreeing with you (for example scams), it starts handling more on its own and asks you less. In an area where you keep correcting it, it asks you more straight away. Home tells you when an area is handled on its own.
See why a comment was hidden
Open the comment in Activity and click Why. You see the reason in one sentence and how strongly each kind of harm scored. If it got it wrong, click Unhide, it was fine right there, and that answer teaches it too.
