How answers use your catalog
Replies to price, stock and size questions use the product the comment is about, state only what your catalog says, and ask which product when it is not clear.
Updated
Once your catalog is added, Answer questions on Setup says so: how many products answers use, and when they last changed. Nothing else needs turning on.
Which product a comment is about
- The ad it is under. A catalog ad shows the products in its product set, and a link ad goes to a product page. A comment under either is about those products.
- The words in the comment. "Do the Ridge Runners come in a 10?" names the Ridge Runner, even on an organic post.
- The post caption, only when the comment names nothing itself.
When a question could be about several products and nothing tells them apart, the reply asks which one they mean. It never picks one and hopes.
What a reply can say
- The price, in the product's currency. A sale price is given as the sale price, with the regular price next to it.
- Whether it is in stock, and for sizes and colors, which ones are left.
- The product link, as a tracked link, so clicks and sales from the reply show up in your reports.
A reply only states a price or size that is in your catalog (or your saved answers). If a drafted reply names a price or a size your catalog does not have, it is written again, and if it is still wrong, no reply is drafted and the comment waits for you.
Sold out
A reply says plainly that something is sold out, and never guesses when it will be back. If you run a campaign from the Restock alert: collect email template, the reply also tells people to comment its keyword to hear when it is back. Settings, Integrations, Product catalog shows whether one is running.
Product details in campaign messages
A campaign DM step can include details of the product the comment is about:
| Write | Becomes |
|---|---|
| {product.name} | Alder Trail Boot |
| {product.price} | $189 (the sale price when there is one) |
| {product.sale_price} | $159 |
| {product.stock} | in stock, or sold out |
| {product.sizes} | 8, 9, 10 |
| {product.colors} | Moss, Black |
| {product.link} | a tracked link to the product page |
If a comment cannot be tied to one product, any sentence that uses one of these is left out of the message, so nobody gets "It is ." with a gap.
How fresh it is
Meta catalogs and feed URLs are checked every hour. A price you change in Commerce Manager is in replies within the hour. Replies say "in stock" or "sold out", never an exact count, so a small delay never promises a pair that just sold.

- Add your product catalog Pick the Meta catalogs your ads already use, upload a product feed, or give a feed URL, so replies can quote real prices, stock and sizes.
- Answering questions: drafts or replies that send on their own Choose Off, Draft for me or Send on its own for questions in your comments, pick a tone, and approve drafts.
- Start a campaign from a template Every new campaign starts from a ready-made board. Here is what each template does and when to pick it.
- Tracked links and recording sales Every link a campaign sends in a DM counts its clicks. Report the sales those clicks lead to, and the revenue shows on the campaign, the step and the lead.
