The client portal and white label

Give an agency client a read-only view of their reports and comments, and show your agency’s name, logo and colour instead of ours.

Updated

If you run comments for clients, you can let each client see how their comments are handled, in your agency’s look, without letting them change anything.

Set up white label first

White label is set per brand, so do this in each client’s brand. Switch to it with the brand switcher at the bottom of the sidebar.

  1. Open Settings, then White label.
  2. Under What clients see, fill in the Name, Accent colour and Logo.
  3. Under Report emails, fill in the Sender name and Replies go to.
  4. Select Save changes.

What each one does:

  • Name: your agency’s name. It replaces CommentGate on reports, report emails and client invitations.
  • Accent colour: buttons and links. Pick one deep enough for white text on it.
  • Logo: PNG, JPEG or WebP, under 150 KB.
  • Sender name: the From line of report emails. The name above is used if it is empty.
  • Replies go to: where a client’s reply to a report email lands.

The Preview at the bottom shows a report email in your colours as you type. Your own team still sees CommentGate. Owners and admins can change white label.

Invite a client

  1. Switch to the client’s brand, then open Settings, then Members.
  2. Select Invite, type the client’s email, and choose the Client role.
  3. Under They can see, choose Every account (including accounts connected later) or Only these accounts, and pick them.
  4. Select Send invitation.

The client gets an invitation in your agency’s name. When they join, they land on their own page, in your colours, with two things:

  • Reports: every client report sent to them, to open or download as a PDF.
  • Comments: a read-only view of the comments on their accounts.

A client cannot hide, reply, change settings or see people and billing. They are never asked for two-step sign-in. A client stays a client: to make them part of your team, invite them again with a team role.

See what your client sees

On Client reports, select What clients see to open the portal exactly as a client would. Select Back to client reports to return.

Send reports on a schedule

A client does not need to join to get reports. On Client reports, select New schedule, choose weekly or monthly, the day and time, who to Send to, which accounts it Covers, and how long Report links work for. Each report goes out as an email with a page and a PDF, in your white label.

Billing for clients

To have a client pay for their own brand, switch it to its own plan. See One plan for several brands, or a separate plan per client.
