Yes and No branches, and Join back

A Branch step asks one question about the person and splits the board into two lanes: Yes on the left and No on the right. Each lane has its own steps.

Add a branch

1. Click the + where the question should be asked and pick Branch.
2. In the side panel, pick what to split on under Split on (the choices are below).
3. Add steps to each lane with the + under Yes and No.

The questions a branch can ask:

• They clicked the link: they opened a link sent earlier in this campaign. The board asks you to send a link first.
• They replied or tapped: they sent a message or tapped a button since the campaign started for them.
• They have a tag: they have the tag you type, for example vip.
• They follow you (Instagram): Instagram only, and only after they tapped or replied. See Follow to unlock.
• Which platform they are on: Yes for the platforms you tick under Yes when they are on. Useful when one campaign listens on several.

The card's title becomes the question ("Clicked the link?", "Tagged vip?", "Follows you?") so the board reads like a sentence.

Join back

By default a lane ends when its last step is done, and the campaign is over for that person.

Turn on Join back at the end of a lane to send people on it to the steps below the branch instead. The switch sits under the lane on the board, and the side panel has the same switches, Yes lane joins back and No lane joins back.

For example, in Comment for a discount code, people who did not click get one reminder on the No lane. If you add a "Thanks for shopping" step below the branch and turn on Join back for both lanes, everyone gets it, whichever lane they took.

A lane with no steps can still join back, which means "skip ahead" for people on that lane.

Lanes you get without a branch

Some steps come with lanes of their own:

• Send DM with Wait for their tap on: the next steps run once they tap (the Tapped lane). The + beside the card, "If they do not answer in 23 hours", starts a No answer lane for people who never tap.
• Ask for email or phone: Answered, and No answer if they never give a valid one.
• Check they follow: Follows and Does not follow yet. Both lanes always carry on below.
• A/B split: one lane per path. See Test two offers with an A/B split.

A No answer lane ends the campaign for that person when it ends. You can wait up to 23 hours for an answer: Facebook and Instagram only allow messages within 24 hours of their last message, so a follow-up any later could not be sent.

Two lanes, not more

A branch always has two lanes. To ask a second question, put another branch inside one of the lanes. To send people down more than two paths at random, use an A/B split, which takes up to four.

On a phone, the lanes show one under the other instead of side by side.
