Send people to Klaviyo

Connect Klaviyo once, and the emails and phone numbers your campaigns collect go to a Klaviyo list, with their CommentGate tags on the profile. The Restock alert: collect email template ends with a Send to Klaviyo step for exactly this.

Connect

1. In Klaviyo, open Settings, API keys, and create a private key with full access to Lists, Profiles and Subscriptions.
2. In CommentGate, open Settings, then Integrations.
3. Paste the key under Klaviyo, Private key, and click Connect.
4. Under List, pick where people go.

What gets sent

Each person goes to Klaviyo with their email or phone number and their tags. A campaign step can pick a different list than the default.

People are sent in two ways, and you can use both:

• A Send to Klaviyo step in a campaign sends the person at that point. Put it after Ask for email or phone.
• Send each new email or phone, a switch in Settings, Integrations, sends everyone as they give an email or phone, from any campaign or conversation.

Consent: what is and is not subscribed

Getting someone's email in a DM does not by itself mean they agreed to marketing email. So you choose, under When someone gives their email:

• Add them to the list (the default): they are added to the list and their email preferences stay as they are. Klaviyo does not treat this as consent to email marketing.
• Subscribe them to email marketing: use this only when your question told them they would get marketing email, for example "Want 10% off and our new drops by email? Send your email". Your list's double opt-in still applies, so Klaviyo may send them a confirmation first.

Phone numbers are never subscribed to SMS marketing. The number is saved on the Klaviyo profile and nothing more, because SMS consent needs its own explicit wording. If you want to text these people, collect SMS consent in Klaviyo.

If Klaviyo is not connected

A Send to Klaviyo step on a campaign is skipped, with the reason on its card ("Klaviyo is not connected, so this step is skipped"), and everything else in the campaign still runs. It never stops a campaign from going live.

Pause or disconnect

Turn off Send people to Klaviyo to pause: nobody is sent until you turn it back on. Disconnect removes the key; people already in Klaviyo stay there. If a send fails, the reason shows next to Disconnect.
