Replies for "is this legit?"

Someone asking whether you are real is someone close to buying. Give them something they can check, in public, where everyone else reading the comments sees it too.

Public or private?

Answer in public when

Answer in public, every time. The person asking is doing exactly what they should, and many more people reading the comments want the same answer. A calm reply with something checkable does more than any line in the ad.

Take it private when

Move to a private message only when the person says they already ordered and something went wrong. Reply in public that you are on it, then continue where order details belong: a direct message or your help page.

What never to do

  • Never reply with only "Yes, we're legit." Anyone can type that. Point to something people can check: reviews, a return policy, where you are based.
  • Never argue or call the question rude. It is the most reasonable question under an ad for a brand people have not heard of.
  • Never ask for an order number, email address or phone number in the comments.
  • Never hide a genuine doubt because it is awkward. Hide scams and abuse; answer questions.
  • Never post screenshots of other customers' orders, messages or addresses as proof.
  • Never promise a delivery date you do not control.

Or let CommentGate write them

These replies are a starting point. CommentGate drafts answers like them for every question on your posts and ads, in your voice and with your details already filled in.

  1. 1Tell it your facts once

Return window, shipping times, sizing notes and how you sound. Every draft uses them.

  2. 2Approve, edit or discard

Nothing is posted until your team says so. Each edit or discard is a correction it learns from.

  3. 3Let clear answers send

Once its drafts go out unchanged, let clear answers send on their own. Anything unsure still waits for you.

Questions

Should I hide "is this a scam?" comments?

No, answer them. A reply with proof people can check reassures everyone reading. Hiding a real question looks worse if someone notices, and the next person will ask again anyway.

What counts as proof in a comment reply?

Something a stranger can check in a minute: a reviews page, your return window, where you are based and how long you have been selling. A link to your own help page is fine; a link to a stranger's screenshot is not.

What if a real customer says their order never arrived?

Reply in public that you are sorry and will sort it out, then take it to a private message for the order details. See the late order templates.
