A comment was hidden that shouldn't have been

Hiding is always reversible. Unhide the comment and it is visible to everyone again right away.

Unhide it

1. Open Activity, then Hidden in the sidebar.
2. Find the comment (the search box helps) and open it.
3. Press Unhide, it was fine.

On YouTube, a hidden comment is held for review on YouTube. Unhiding it publishes it again.

How it learns from this

Pressing Unhide, it was fine is a lesson. Next time a comment looks like this one, CommentGate leans towards keeping it up. If it gets several of the same kind wrong, it becomes more careful in that area straight away and asks you instead of hiding. See How the autopilot learns.

If it keeps happening

Open the comment and press Why. It tells you who hid it.

• Decided by autopilot. Keep correcting, and check the switch it belongs to on Setup. If you never want that kind of comment hidden (say, criticism), turn the switch off. Add a line under Anything we should know about your brand?, for example: "Never hide complaints about delivery."
• Decided by a rule. The rule's name is shown. Open Setup, Advanced, Rules and change or pause it.
• Decided by your lists. A word on Blocked keywords, or an author on Muted authors, hides everything that matches. A short word can catch more than you meant. Edit the list in Setup, Advanced, Lists.
• Decided by a teammate. Their name is shown. Talk to them, or limit what they can do in Settings, Members.

Keep a word or a person always up

Add a word to Allowed keywords, or a person (an ambassador, a staff member) to Trusted authors. Their comments always stay up, whatever else they say.

Hidden on the platform itself

If the reason says "Hidden by TikTok's comment filter" or "Held for review on YouTube", the platform's own filters hid it, not CommentGate. You can still unhide it here. To stop it happening, change the comment filters in the TikTok or YouTube app.
