Too long for TikTok
Public or private?
Answer in public when
A short public reply is enough: thank them and point to your partner page. Readers see you are friendly without seeing the details.
Take it private when
Rates, contracts, shipping gifted product and usage rights all go private, and only after you have checked the account is who it says it is.
What never to do
- Never pay a "promo page" or "feature page" that offers exposure in your comments. Most of these are scams, and real creators rarely pitch this way.
- Never share your partner discount codes, rates or contact details in public.
- Never click links in a collab comment, and never log in anywhere a comment sends you.
- Never agree to a partnership in the comments. Check the account first: its age, its real engagement, and whether it has worked with brands you know.
- Never let "DM us to collab" comments from unknown accounts sit on your ads. Hide them if they are spam; they are not for your customers.

Questions
Should I hide "DM for promo" comments?
Yes, when they are spam. They are not written for your customers, and some lead to scams. CommentGate hides them automatically along with other scams and spam.
How do I tell a real creator from a promo scam?
Real creators usually have a history of their own content, followers who comment on it, and a way to contact them. Promo scams tend to be new or copied accounts asking for payment up front.
